Dr. Joe Boomgard-Zagrodnik (formerly Zagrodnik) is the founder of the Convergence Zone blog His career has spanned a number of institutions and research interests including weather observations+field experiments, forecasting, climatologies, machine learning, and high-resolution modeling. His current role is a scientist in the weather solutions group at Verisk analytics.

A Seattle resident since 2013, Joe has embraced the temperature climate for his outdoor hobbies including running, gardening, and beekeeping.

Ana Ordoñez

Convergence Zone contributor

Ana Ordoñez is a Washington local currently based in Seattle. She has a master’s degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of Washington, a bachelor’s degree in geography from Arizona State University, and is a former SOARS protégé.
